Terrence A. Jordan
October 4, 1953 – April 24, 2024
Terrence A. Jordan, age 70, unexpectedly passed away at his home on April 24, 2024, in Milwaukee, WI due to respiratory failure. Terrence was born to Carrie L. Jordan on October 4, 1953, in Milwaukee. Raised by his mother in the absence of his father, Terrence and his brother, Demetris, shared an unbreakable bond.
The two brothers were born just three years apart and navigated life’s challenges together. Terrence, as the older brother, often led the way, while Demetris followed closely behind. In this dynamic, Terrence was the first to make mistakes, but it was through these experiences that both brothers learned and grew. Demetris, ever supportive, stood by his brother’s side, offering guidance and understanding.
Terrence also affectionately known as “Terry” and “Big Terry”, attended Rufus King High School where he was able to showcase his athletic talent on the football team. After leaving school, he embarked on a career in trade and technical work. He dedicated over 30 years of his life to Tower Automotive (formerly AO Smith), where he held various roles as a decoiler operator, forklift driver, and welder. Terrence’s ability to work for a single company for more than three decades before retirement spoke volumes about his hardworking and persistent nature.
But beyond his work, Terry had an insatiable appetite for life’s pleasures. He was simply a force of nature. Imagine walking into a room and being greeted by Terry’s infectious smile, a sparkle in his eye, impeccable style, and undeniable charm. His presence had the power to brighten up the entire place, filling it with warmth and joy. However, don’t let that charming exterior fool you. If you crossed paths with Terry, you knew he was not one to hold back. He had a quick wit and a sharp tongue, always ready with a witty or forceful comeback.
At his core, he loved deeply. Terry’s larger-than-life personality endeared him to all who knew him. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued, leaving a lasting impression wherever he went. Whether he was cracking jokes at family gatherings, sharing stories with friends, cooking, or simply enjoying a quiet moment by the water while fishing or watching sports, Terrence lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with passion.
Major events in Terry’s life included his marriage to Janice in February of 1983, their subsequent divorce in November of 2004, and his baptism on April 28th, 1991 at the Central Church of Christ. He found love again when he started dating Iris in 2015 and they officially married in September of 2018. Their union was a testament to the power of love and commitment, persevering until his passing.
Terry took great pride in raising his stepson, Romale, along with his biological children, Terrence II (Lil’ Terry) and Tyrell. He was incredibly proud of his children and celebrated their achievements with unwavering support. Becoming a grandfather on September 14, 2021, was an overjoyous moment for Terry. He cherished his role as a grandfather and valued every moment spent with his grandchild.
Terrence is preceded in death by his mother Carrie L. Jordan, father Alvin W. Jordan, grandmother Cora Jackson, and stepson Romale D. Thames. He is also preceded in death by other cherished family members and friends who have passed before him.
Terrence’s love of life did not come to an end with his death. He is survived by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Terrence is survived by his wife, Iris Jordan; his dear brother, Demetris (Kim) Jordan; his cherished children, Terrence (Aleah) Jordan II and Tyrell Jordan; his adored grandchild, Terrence Jordan III; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and acquaintances.
