Dear Family and friends of Mattie: Wow!… 101!…. Mattie has certainly seen a lot and live through some of the most turbulent times in the history of black people . How I wish I could have been there to hear her tell her stories ……I wanted to also express to the family my deepest condolences on Mattie’s death. When someone we love dies grief can overtake us like storm clouds that refuse to let the sunshine through. But keep 2Corinthians 4:6 in mind: “For God is the one who said: “Let the light shine out of darkness,” and he has shone on our hearts to illuminate them with the glorious knowledge of God by the face of Christ.” ….. Almighty God has let the light shine through giving us a “a furure and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). Our future and hope is in Jesus Christ and the promised resurrection of the dead (Acts 24:15. & John 5:28, 29). We also have the grand promise from Almighty God of endless life on a beautifully restored paradise earth (Isaiah 35:5,6; Isaiah 11:6-9; Isaiah 51:3)…. This wonderful hope is a ray of sun shine with a breeze that will blow away the storm clouds of unending grief….. We are so sorry for your loss. When this happens in our family we need more than human strength. God and his Son can provide what we need. Please review these scriptures : John 5:28-29 “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.”
Revelation 21:4 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes,and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
