Ms Lillie you will be well missed. Test my sister in peace. Love ya…
We are so very sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
I met Mrs.Williams ,when we both were serving the Lord’s house as ushers. She in Milwaukee and I at Mt.Sinai in North Chicago, Il.Down thru the years we often fellowship locally, within the central region and at many National United Church Ushers Convention s.Lillie always greeted you a beautiful smile and pleasant conversation. She loved ushering and was a true leader.
Lillie was my mom’s (Pollie Williams) closest cousin. She was like an aunt to me. I remember coming to visit and always knowing I had a place to stay and good food to eat. In the summer I would have grilled corn on the cob and brats. In the fall I could look forward to sweet potato pie. I loved her plum jelly and would leave with some jelly and Texas toast. She always showed that southern hospitality. Lillie will truly be missed. Please accept my deepest sympathies and know that my prayers are with James and the family. May God heal you in His graces and bless you with His love. – Dorothea

I was so saddened to hear of Ms. Lillie’s passing. I am not an usher, but I would make sure my dad was at all the monthly meetings and all the usher’s annual days in Milwaukee. Ms Lillie would be the first person I would look for to sit by. I am going to miss her comical remarks and her bright bright smile. Rest on Ms Lillie until I can come sit by you again.
I attended Auer Avenue grade school as a child. Mrs. Williams was a Teacher’s Aide at our school. Every day, she would be posted at the main entrance (South Side) door sitting at a desk. You had to go by Mrs. Williams if you were entering or exiting the school. Every kid at the school knew her. When I would come to church as a little girl, the “teacher aide/door lady” was at the door of the church as an usher. She made church “familiar” to me because I saw her every day. I was always comforted, just by seeing her. That is how she made me feel her entire life. During this time of bereavement, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to Mr. Williams, Mrs. Stovall and all of Mrs. Williams loved ones and friends. My prayers are with you. Rev. Lashell Drake
