Our sincere condolences on the passing of Gerald. He fought the battle with all you at his side.
May God Bless Him as he begins his Eternal Life.
Gerald always had a warm greeting whenever we were together. Such wonderful memories of our families sitting together and watching the boys at Pilgrim Park and Brookfield East. Whether it was watching football or basketball we were together in the stands, cheering our boys on. Pizza parties, working as volunteers, our families will always remember those as great times.
Best friends for life!
May He rest in peace.
May God Grant your family peace, love and hope during your time of grief.
Sending hugs from across the miles…
All Our Love,
Mark and Dorothy Wisniewski and family
Gerald’s sincerity and kindness were always associated with any interaction I had with him. With every conversation I had with Gerald, there was always laughter that came from his great sense of humor. He was a supportive WCTEA union member while at WCTC and the students were fortunate to be touched by his patience and skill of teaching. Thank you Gerald for deciding to be the person we had a chance to know. You will be missed.
Sincerely,
Dan Krier and the WCTEA
I am so very heartbroken to hear about Gerald. I had the honor and joy of working with Gerald and calling him my friend at WCTC. Whenever we would meet in the hallways or at union meetings, he always had a warm smile, hug and encouraging word to share. We loved talking about culture, politics, and the happenings at the college.
He was an inspiration not only to me but to his students. He also gave me wonderful advice on being a parent. “Sofia…I always had my kids finish 1 page of math during summer break to keep their skills up before they went outside.”
He has had an impact on so many lives. You, as his family, are living, breathing pieces of his beautiful legacy.
I am praying for you all and thinking of you all.
Respectfully,
A Good Person often comes from a Good Name. A Good Name often comes from a Good Family. …

Rest in peace great Gerald. You were an inspiration in grade school to dream and achieve.
You have had such an impact on your family. We will truly miss you. God has one of His warriors back with Him in glory. You live on here in all of us. Family, may Jesus give you peace and comfort during this time of transition.
To Gerald my colleague, cousin & friend I don’t know how I would’ve made it to school during the bus strike in 79. Gerald drove me to school everyday. I’ll never forget that. Peace & blessings
We are very sadden of this loss. Our hearts & prayers is with the entire Childs and Tabernacle family. Gerald was my big brother, my mother’s lil brother, and superman to Jalanai. He was always there for us. Always. We love you all.
every event I put on, Of course usually later but for him on time. I worked for years with Gerald on the Trustee Board.. Gerald you will always inspire me. The laughter, communication and joy I will cherish forever. The life you lived is your legacy.
Well done my great friend, well done .
Our families were close. With siblings from both being around the same age. Gerald was my contemporary and we probably knew each other our entire lives. Born months apart and attending Tabernacle from our earliest ages. We also walked down the hill on 10th Street every day, mostly together from grade 1-6. Gerald and I both attended Milwaukee Tech at the same time. Interestingly, we both became accountants, which is probably pretty rare for two boys from the 53206! In all those years of knowing Gerald, I’ve never heard an ill word mentioned about him, nor ever encountered a situation where he was not a good person. He’ll be missed, but he truly was a blessing to this world? May the family take comfort in their faith and knowing the contributions Gerald made to making this a better world!
When I married into the family 28 yrs ago Gerald was the best man to my husband and his love and encouragement of us in the years since will forever be etched on my heart. Michelle, G and Michah…I love you and thank you for caring for Gerald when he needed you most.
Our condolences to Michelle and family. Rejoice in Lord he will take care of everyone.
We pray your strength in Lord and walk in his light, he will never leave you alone.
Much Love, Cassandra Owens, Mala Scott, Tammie Wesley and Delmaria (Besty) Grant
Gerald and I loved to talk football, both when his boys played for Tosa, and then 2 U-W colleges. He would beam with pride when he talked about them. Great family man and person, may he rest in peace.🙏🏻

Gerald was a wonderful colleague to work with. He greeted everyone with a smile, as sincere in asking how you were doing, and was earnest in his commitment to helping students reach their goals. He will be greatly missed at WCTC.
Our deepest condolences to you and your family. Gerald was a wonderful man and colleague. We really miss him at WCTC and in the School of Business. We will forever hold his memory in our hearts.
I’ve been blessed by Gerald over the years as we met attending Milwaukee Tech HS. May his calm nature, brilliance, and discerning spirit continue to warm our hearts and inspire us to continually learn and grow and most importantly keep the faith.
