  1. To My Family, the Annie Mae Swift Jefferson Family:
I wish to acknowledge the wonderful relationship my family and I personally enjoyed with our Cousin Ann who we say goodbye until we meet again. She was a joy to share moments of celebration and yes, those when we said goodbye to one of our other family members. We shall miss her, but more than anything we will miss seeing her in the latest fashions. She was a fashion icon and enjoyed dressing up to the 10’s. She called it “peacocking” and she will now join her Sister Colie who was a member of the “Peacocking Society.” (smile)
With much love, Dorothy, John, Genice and Andrew – The Leavell-Smith Family

  2. As a boy growing up in Milwaukee, Cousin Annie Mar, was always cheerful and always full of great advice. Anytime she came into our home in Milwaukee my mother Gillis Daniels and cousin Annie Mae would have the greatest conversations and that’s something that I will always remember her warmth and her laughter you will be missed.

  3. To the Family of Mrs. Annie Mae Swift- Jefferson:

She and my mother, the late Georgia Mae Lowe-Shepherd were very close friends from childhood to adults. Their families, the Swift’s and Lowe’s grew up together in Monticello, Arkansas.

Annie Mae as we affectionally called her was indeed a classy and intelligent lady. Several years after my mother passed away on May 19, 2000, I called Annie Mae and asked her for some advice. She gave me the best answer possible and said these words to me, your mother would want you happy!

Annie Mae has now joined in with the heavenly host of Saints.

    Love Kathy Carson- Coleman
