  1. Carmella & Family- Our beloved cousin will be greatly missed. May his angelic character live on. We miss you, Monnie Monnie.

  2. I will never forget how Monnie made my transition to college easier. He always had us laughing and was the glue that helped us stick together. Whether it was helping you laugh or to see the bigger picture and understand more he was a big impact on that part of my life and I am grateful for his presence. Rest in Power.

  3. My cousin was the person I had the most fun with I never laughed so much in my life growing up with him. He was my brother period not a cousin we did everything g together as kids I’m just so hurt!

  4. I met Amun when he was dating my best friend and ultimately fathered two children with her. He quickly became a big brother like figure to me and it seems like he kept that energy with everyone he encountered. Even the times when we disagreed we were both able to come to the table and have a discussion and I really appreciated him as a person. He had this confidence about him that made you want to follow him anywhere. He really lit up every room that he walked into and trips to Milwaukee simply will never be the same. You are loved, Brotha. Keep an eye on us all, up there!

  5. Yemaya, sending my condolences to you and your family. The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. – Psalm 34:18. Praying that God gives you all peace, comfort and strength during this time.

  6. I knew Amun though his father. The two times I was in his presence, he displayed the power of a young African determined to honor his father and ancestors with being a young entrepreneur empowering his community. Amun rest in honor. Omowale.

  7. The Lord our God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love… Zephaniah 3:17

  8. Maya and family, our hearts are broken with yours. Thank you for allowing our family to be part of yours for so many years now. We are praying for all of you as you navigate this tragic loss. I’m sorry we can’t be there in person to hug and hold you, but please know we are there in spirit. We love you all so much.

  9. My condolences to Monnie’s friends and family. His positive attitude and big smile were infectious to those around him, and will not be forgotten.

  10. Bukata and Family – Our sincere sympathy on the death of Amun Bordain ~ From: The Health Services Leadership Team at Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN

  11. Our memory of Amun was told to us by Yemaya. She was thrilled to travel through Europe on a family trip with Amun. They all laughed, had awesome experiences, and made fabulous memories together. May Yemaya and the entire Bordain family be wrapped in love as they grieve such a special brother. A donation to Educational Fund to Stop Gun Violence (https://efsgv.org/) has been made. May his memory be a revolution. With love- Anna, Nadya, Karen

  12. It was a pleasure to meet a down to earth guy that can relate to technology like I can..We both was a rare to be in that field. You will be missed in this world of technology! RIP my brother…

  13. Amun Joy – you taught me so many things but one of them was how to parallel park with my eyes closed. Everyone is always amazed and my friends are like ..’yea Monnie taught her that’ . I could probably parallel park a semi thanks to my experience with the van smh Your smile lit up my whole world. You loved me at my worst and celebrated me at my best, no matter the distance or the time passed. I am so proud of the man and father that you had matured into. Thank you for keeping me safe and protected, for learning and growing with me. You have always been my hardest goodbye.

  14. Hey Monnie, Your sister will tell you… I couldn’t wait until it was around the holidays and you would come in town and you and your dad would make Gumbo. Best gumbo ever!!! Yours is the only gumbo I’ve ever eaten and will ever eat. Crazy memory to recall, but that’s you. Fun loving, crazy cousin of mine. You will be missed, but never forgotten. RIP.

  15. RIP Amun, we drove all the to New Haven in your Cadillac, you told me in Ohio “stop speeding you going to get pulled over” I said ain’t no cops around. And 1 minute later I’m getting flagged down by a cop. You just shook your head. HA! It was a long trip, but we made it! Prayers to your family. You will be missed.
