Joy Dionne Godman, age 45, was born to eternal life on April 19, 2026.

Born on December 22, 1980, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Joy was the beloved daughter of the late Toni Godman and Paul Robinson. Her early years were spent in Kenosha, where she attended Wilson Elementary and McKinley Junior High. She later moved to Minnesota, where she graduated from Thomas Edison High School.

Joy’s greatest legacy is her four children, whom she loved deeply: Shaduan Marks Jr., Jovan Northington, Joi Northington, and Toni Godman. She was the proud grandmother of seven lovely grandchildren of whom she adored. She was a woman of strength and heart, leaving behind a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Toni Godman; her biological father, Paul Robinson; and her stepfather, Walter Vaughn.

Her memory will be cherished by her children; grandchildren, her half-sister, Tanesha “Brandy” Davis of Milwaukee; her best friend, Kareema Beadles of Atlanta, Georgia; Step-Siblings and a community of loved ones spanning from Wisconsin to Minnesota and beyond.
