One of my most cherished memories is seeing her stand as the Maid of Honor when my parents renewed their vows for their 50th anniversary. She was a witness to our family’s greatest joys and a pillar during our hardest trials. Her life was a living sermon of consistency, loyalty, and love.
I am heartbroken to say goodbye to someone who has been a part of my life for six decades, but I find peace knowing she is resting in the arms of the Savior she served so well. Well done, Mother Russell. You will be forever missed.very time I saw her, I’d give her a big hug and say, Mother Russell, you smelling real good!’ She’d just give me that beautiful smile of hers and say, ‘Go somewhere!’ with a laugh.
That was Mother—full of grace, full of life, and always smelling like a rose. My heart is heavy saying goodbye after six decades, but I am so grateful for every hug and every smile. I know she is now dressed in her heavenly robes, resting in the arms of the Savior she served so well,
Well done, good and faithful servant. You will be forever missed.”
My heart is heavy because Mother Russell was a major part of my life since childhood.
She was always a joyful presence whether at home, in the neighborhood, church, or the broader community.
She will be greatly missed.
Our prayers and support are extended to the family and all as we remember this wonderful saint of God!
Love and prayers always,
Apostles Bill and Brenda Bowers
