  1. Darnell always made me laugh anytime I was in town to visit. He made me feel like one of his little sisters and was genuinely interested in my professional endeavors letting me know he was proud of me and to keep up the good work. May your light and giant smile continue to shine through your children. Love, peace, prayers and blessings. God Bless Kelz (the sis)

  2. He was the only cousin that acted like a big brother, he could have went to play with his friends on the weekends but instead he took me and my little brother out to play football against the neighborhood kids. He was always fun to be around and helped me out during my high school days by letting me wear his clothes and shoes, he had his own fashion and I liked that. What I miss most is hearing him laugh because when he laughed he make you laugh. Thanks You Darnell for always being you no matter what. Love you family.

  3. Darnell was a brother to me. I enjoyed the days when we would play football at Center Park. He always wanted to be Jerry Rice. He was competitive and always wanted to be the best receiver in the game. We used to be at Brigette house everyday after school and on weekends where we homed our ribbing skills. Darnell lived upstairs from me for a number of years and we shared many memories together. He was a stand up man and didn’t back down from anyone. He was a man of integrity and honesty. His mother should be very proud of how she raised him. I can’t wait to see his children grow up and I hope they can hear stories about the wonderful person he was.

  4. Darnell was Someone that added Only positivity and a loving energy to Every experience you had with him. From the concerts we went to, New Year’s Eve celebrations, spirited music “discussions” lol, to the football games at Center, to the opening days, to Packer games watched and many other memories that will be cherished forever. Grateful to have had you in my life. You will always be loved and never forgotten. May God watch over you, your family, and your journey home Closely. Rest in paradise my friend. Love you- D.Woods

  5. I never met Darnell’s parents but I would like them to know that We loved him like our son,he is/was a wonderful boy/man . He was always polite and respectful. My sons David,Joshua and Chris have lost a brother along with All the other friends who are sons to me n my husband. I remember when he came to our house for the first time” is Dave home yes come in I believe it was about dinner time are you hungry? No madam. I always fed the boys when I could cause they were growing boys. People don’t always know how they effect another person we were Blessed to have him in our lives for as long as we had them in our life to make us better people and He did that along with All the other sons we have in our lives. He found brothers true brothers in all his friends. You will be so missed but still loved beyond the grave. Love you Mom and Dad Pultz

  6. Growing up we used to play football in the street between 51st and 53rd street. Darnell was in his own league and a natural GIANT with 6’ 160 to maybe 170lbs physique at the time. He would continue to catch balls on EVERYONE!! We eventually took our talents to Center Street Park on 65th and center and started to see the true talent come out. I was always frustrated when he caught a ball over me but eventually “one time” was able to defend him and cause him to drop the pass. One of his few he ever dropped. As we grew older I could only watch as that talent disappeared and the terrible disease strip him of life…. No matter what happened Darnell always had a big smile on his face and would sacrifice himself for his family and brothers. He will NEVER be forgotten! I love you brother, I will see you again one day.
