Clarence Bowers
Clarence Junior (June) Bowers, age 90, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, January 6th, 2022. He was born and raised in Corinth, Mississippi to Andrew and Rosella (Wade) Bowers on November 7th, 1931. At the young age of 21, he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served 2 years fighting in the Korean War. After the war, he married his former wife Dorothy L. (Mabry) Bowers. He had 5 (biological) children; Clarence Jr., Valerie, Brenda (Rev. Gregory) Armstrong, Ronald (Brenda), and Pamela. He was blessed with grandchildren (Debra, Jasmin, Emanuel, Faith, and Ethan), Great Grandchildren (Sheketa and La April), and 1 Great-great Grandson (Da'Shaine).
With the mind of an engineer, Clarence mastered automobile mechanics and loved to build things. He taught his children how to keep a well-oiled vehicle and do minor car repairs. He had his own mechanic repair garage for a while helping many to save money on their automobile repairs. There were many trips to the automobile junkyard looking for parts!
Clarence took pride in making provisions for his family and his recreational toys (fishing boats, motorcycles, and travel trailers). Early on he worked as a truck driver, and some seasonal jobs to make ends meet. He worked as a welder at International Harvester, then later at AO Smith until his retirement.
Clarence loved to attend church services. He served as the first Deacon of the New Jerusalem Evangelistic Temple in Milwaukee WI working with the Men of the church to maintain the church house. He played guitar (a little) and often participated in the music ministry at church. Clarence had his own unique Hallelujah praise and dance too!
Clarence searched for adventure and later married Linda (Lynn) (Pipher-Bellin) Bowers, (they shared 22 years together), adding 3 (step) sons; Tommy Jr., Jerry, and Corry Bellin. Extending his blessings with more grandchildren (Tommy III, Crystal (Adam), Dominick, Kayla, Jerry Jr., Chey, and Dom), and Great Grandchildren (Jayce, Paityne, Nolan). Clarence and Lynn roller-skated and traveled through the years. They enjoyed traveling by their Motorcycle, and RV. Clarence felt blessed by all the beautiful sights this world has to offer. Even after losing eyesight, he never let his love for God, life, family, roller skating, and traveling fade.
He planned to live to be 120 years old but God had other plans for him. Now comfort is found in knowing that after many years of being blind, the first face he saw was Jesus! HALLELUJAH!
Preceded in death by father Andrew, mother Rosella, brother James, sister Ana Laura, son Clarence, Jr., and step-son Tommy Jr. He is survived by many relatives and friends. He now is watching over all his loved ones and will be dearly missed.
Combined Services, Monday, January 17, 2022. Visitation: 9-10 AM and Funeral 10 AM at Paradise Memorial Funeral and Cremation Services.
