  1. “May You Rest In Heaven Cousin!” Sending love from my family to yours from Chicago, IL.
    God Bless!

  2. Apostle Jesse L. Smith, Jr, aka Mr. Smith at our place of employment at Pulaski Heights Middle School, Little Rock, Arkansas and LRSD. Mr. Smith from the moment we meet, when you walked over to Mr. Thomas Watson and I during our first Safety and Security training on August 13, 2013 and introduced yourself, then said “I’ll help you anyway I can. If I don’t know the answer I’ll get an answer for you. I’ll show you everything I know.” From that moment on you took both of us under your wings and helped us to make a very easy and successful transition into our new job as LRSD Safety and Security Officers. You were a kind, very easy to talk to person. You often had a word from the Lord. You not only spoke scriptures, the word of God but you lived it and it showed in your daily life at work. You were very helpful, friendly, kind hearted and you had a great sense of humor. You enjoyed laughing and joking with your coworkers. We, at PHMS was a family. Like in regular families, we may not have always agreed with everything but before the day was over everything was alright and functioning smoothly. You would often say for whatever reason with smile, “Be angry, but sin not”. The morning when I learned of your transition from labor to rest, I thought of those words. My heart ached as I listened to your loving wife whom you loved so dearly
tell me what happened. My heart is so heavy, it has been since the day you passed away.

At work in the fall of 2015 you mentioned to me and Mr. Watson that you were needing to make changes in your diet. You went from a lot of fried food to baked food and so on. We discussed making healthier eating choices and to increase our daily activity/exercise. Together, the three of us was a real team! We looked out for each other. We covered for each other. We spoke daily to each other, sometimes several times a day. We got along very well. When I was grieving the loss of a loved one, you stood outside with me on Pine Street and you prayed for me. Above everything else I’ve said Mr. Smith, you were a true man of God who loved our Heavenly Father, your wife and your son. You spoke of your family often. When your wife had her medical issues you did what you had to do to make sure she was well taken care of and that your son was fine. Mr. Jesse Smith, I have missed working with you every since the school year ended in May 2016. I’m glad I was able to stay connected with your wife, Pastor Fay Smith through Facebook. I sent a message to you through her, I hope you got it. Mr. Smith you will be missed and I’m sure you’re already are missed by your family. I’ll always cherish your acts of kindness and assistance you showed me. Take your rest sir, take your rest my buddy and former coworker, take your rest Apostle Jesse L. Smith, Jr. Rest In Peace!
